I just finished reviewing my assigned batch of the hundreds of abstracts submitted to WCIO for our 10th annual scientific meeting in New York May 11-14, and what an exciting bunch they were!  The amount of innovation in the field of IO is astounding. It is mindboggling to see the creative ideas and applications for image-guided cancer therapies being investigated around the world. 

Abstract submissions to @WCIO 2014 closed over 15% up from 2013. Building on last year’s 20% growth, WCIO continues to fulfill its mission to be the leading focus for presentation of IO research in the world. Submissions came from 17 countries spanning Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. While clinical investigation of hepatic malignancies remains the top topic, 30% of the abstracts were devoted to science and technology.

Over half the faculty at WCIO 2014 are new this year, so you can look forward to lots of fresh talks and new ideas -- far more interesting than listening to Jeff, Riad and I bashing each other at yet another tumor board (although the folks attending CIO in Miami this month still seemed to enjoy it).
