First WCIO Webinar on VuMedi a Smashing Success
On Monday night (Tuesday morning in Asia-Pacific), VuMedi hosted the first WCIO-sponsored webinar on IO Practice Building and Chemoembolization.
VuMedi President and Founder Roman Giverts describes the WCIO webinar as “practice changing education delivered in a very efficient, low cost, and most importantly interactive format. Users get immediate answers to questions from world-renowned faculty. They also get a front row seat to high quality talks and free CME credit, all from the comfort of their home”.
Organized by Deepak Sudheendra from the University of Pennsylvania, the faculty included Scott Price from Cancer Treatment Centers of America discussing IO practice building in private practice, WCIO Past Chair Michael Soulen on practice building in the university setting and techniques of classical Lipiodol chemoembolization, and WCIO Vice Chair Jeff Geschwind on drug-eluting beads.180 viewers signed on from North America and Asia-Pacific, plus a few European night owls, making this one of the most successful VuMedi webinars ever.
The level of interactivity was stunning -- I literally could not type fast enough to keep up with the torrent of sophisticated questions from the audience. Skimming through the transcript now, the array of subjects we covered is dizzying. Topics spanned every aspect of chemoembolization -- patient selection, drugs, clinical management, technique, imaging - as well as practice management. A great thing about the group interactivity is that participants could answer each other, so we all benefited from the collective expertise. I especially benefited from the comments from the japanese doctors.
The webinar will be available for passive viewing on the VuMedi website at https://www.vumedi.com/ for those who missed it live. Dr. Sudheendra is already planning the next WCIO webinars on Y90 and ablation -- stay tuned for the date announcements!
