Put your energy into IO -- 2 Days left to volunteer for WCIO
As a global community devoted to the growth of interventional oncology, WCIO promotes the development of skilled practitioners of minimally-invasive, image-guided therapies for cancer and its symptoms through meetings, on-line education, and practice resources.
While nurturing our roots as the world IO scientific meeting, WCIO has greatly expanded international IO education through “WCIO meets…” sessions at oncologic and IR congresses throughout Latin America, India, and the Middle East, under the leadership of International Education Division Chair Alexis Kelekis. We are excited to announce the first freestanding “Best of WCIO” meeting in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 2014, led by Dr. Ricardo Garcia Monaco.
In addition to the highly successful and engaging Case of the Week series, edited by Kevin Kim, and discussion boards on multiple IO topics, we have launched an IO webinar series with VuMedi, organized by Deepak Sudheendra. IO-Central will be adding an IO Fundamentals series of interactive on-line education modules, under the leadership of Education & Training Chair Bob Lewandowski. The Practice Division, led by Jim Papadouris, is preparing patient education materials to use in your practice.
As an open community without membership dues or journal subscriptions, WCIO is driven by the energy of its volunteers. The Board, Annual Meeting, IO Central website, and the Divisions all need passionate people who will take a hands-on approach to building IO throughout the world. Please volunteer on the IO-Central website or respond to the Call for Volunteers email.
And don’t forget the WCIO abstract deadline, also December 12th! See you in New York in May!
