On another note I want to share a recent conversation with a colleague the other day who is interested in getting involved with WCIO and his comments on why he wants to volunteer struck me … He said “I have learned tremendously from the educational services that are provided by WCIO. The education from the annual meeting, online discussion forums, case of the week and live webinars have helped make my transition from fellowship to being an attending a very smooth process. Therefore, I would like to join the WCIO and return the favor and help others.” As we head into WCIO 2016 and the end of my three years volunteering on the program committee his comments make all the hours of preparation well worth it! The program committee has worked hard to bring you this exceptional program to increase IO expertise, encourage fellows and residents to get into this growing field and learn how to educate colleagues on the benefits of IO. I am thrilled to be meeting with all of you in Boston from June 9-12.
