World Conference on Interventional Oncology (WCIO) Announces Launch of New One-of-a-Kind Online Curriculum
Washington, D.C. (March 29, 2016) – The World Conference on Interventional Oncology (WCIO), in collaboration with The France Foundation (TFF), is proud to announce the launch of IO University, a new online curriculum for health professionals who are practicing or interested in pursuing opportunities in interventional oncology (IO).
“The goal of IO University is to provide interventional radiologists with a comprehensive understanding of the fundamentals of oncology as it applies to IO, and to enable clinicians to incorporate IO into existing treatment modalities within various oncology settings, including academic institutions and community clinical settings,” said Robert Lewandowski, MD, Education and Training Committee Chair and Associate Professor of Radiology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. The online format is a convenient, centralized place to access the newest procedures and treatments. IO University offers much needed education for the field.”
IO University’s online format offers direct access to comprehensive education and training anytime, anywhere through state-of-the-art modules created by Interventional Oncologists, Medical Oncologists, and Radiologists. Each interactive module focuses on a different tumor type, and helps address specific clinical gaps within that disease state to further understanding of the nuances in interventional oncology, and to apply that knowledge to real-life treatment plans. Each module is less than 45 minutes, available online 24/7, and offers Continuing Education (CE) credits. Current IO University offerings include Language of Oncology and a six-part Metastatic Colorectal Cancer module.
IO University is available now. To access IO University or for more information, visit www.IOuniversity.org.
